I ment, that he was very happy when he played.

Maybe it's just hearing his life story that makes his music seem very sad to me. But, yeah, if you hear his life story it's hard to imagine that he played when happy.

I never knew about Charlie Parker until I watched the PBS series on Jazz a few days ago. He lived a very tragic life. There's a underlying sadness that comes from his sax. It almost hurts me to hear it.

Very cool...I hadn't known that Buddy Rich was in on this. I sure hope that you feel a lot better now. Mark

'ers buddy Rich on this too, man, classic. I believe this song here is raising my spirits from the blues I've had on this dreary Saturday (now Sunday) night. Ooomf

The way Bird floats across this tune is unbelievable. I still can't process how he did it, especially when you hear how the tune was written and supposed to be played vs how he played it. Unreal. Total improvisation, while staying completely true to the theme. Damn, no wonder he's the greatest to ever hold a saxophone.
